Region of Waterloo Public Health has declared a COVID-19 cohort outbreak at Hillcrest Public School. Public Health’s investigation has determined another case, a staff member, is in the same cohort as the case reported earlier this week. Two additional staff members have been identified and directed to isolate. No other students are required to isolate.

The identity of the individual is protected by privacy legislation and will not be shared.

The WRDSB continues to work with Region of Waterloo Public Health to prevent further spread of COVID-19 in students, staff and the community and will continue to provide further updates as necessary.

Communicating with WRDSB families, students and staff is one of our guiding principles. In accordance with guidance from the Ministry of Education, the Confirmed Cases of COVID-19 page will be updated on an ongoing basis with information regarding confirmed cases of COVID-19 involving a student or staff member in a school setting.
