AGENDA:

 

  1. Minutes from Oct 7th Parent Council –approved by Hugh and 2nd Christine

 

  1. Letter request from Mrs. Moss in the Library looking for volunteer(s) to come in on a regular basis to be a “Games Master” for 20 min.

-Becky and Devon volunteered and will contact Mrs. Moss directly. Annette as an alternate if needed.

 

  1. Bingo – Marc requested parent volunteers to receive training from OLG at the Cambridge Bingo Centre and work 7 Bingo events from now until the end of June (Wed. in the early afternoon.) Our school receives a monetary donation for providing volunteers for these days.

-Volunteers – Christine and husband, Melissa, Ann and Annette as an alternate if needed.

-Marc to provide training dates to volunteers and will arrange schedule afterwards.

 

  1. Lunch related items:

 

Pizza Days – started October 21st. Will take place on every Wednesday until Jan 6th 2016. Forms for the next round of Pizza Days will be sent home in early December.

 

Papou’s Subs January start. Will take place on alternating Tuesdays (opposite week from the Lunch Lady). Forms will be sent home in the coming weeks. Two volunteers needed for one day (2 hours) to sort forms

  1. December Events:

 

Tree of WarmthDecember 3rd-17th – a tree will be put in the front hallway by the office to collect hats, mitts, coats, etc – only NEW items to be donated

-Ann to provide a spare tree

 

Holiday Food Drive – December 3rd-17th.

-Wendy Fletcher (teacher) will coordinate with the Food Bank. Wendy has coordinated the date with the fire department.

 

  1. QSP Magazine and Cookie Dough Fundraiser has ended. Volunteers will be needed to disperse the Cookie Dough on December 9th.

-Volunteers – Catharine, Hugh, Marc, from 3-6, Melissa from 5-6

 

  1. “Cake Walk”February. Volunteers will be needed to supply baked goods.

– Christine to coordinate – info to follow

 

  1. Stuff-A-Cruiser has been booked for April 20th, 2016.

-Amanda De Sousa (teacher) will coordinate with the Food Bank, Marc has coordinated the date with the police department.

 

  1. New Orleans Pizza fundraiser – will happen in May

Stacey West to let Marc know the dates for the New Orleans Pizza Fundraiser – plan to widely advertise on the parent council Facebook page, through School Day, etc.

 

  1. Bike Rally (Primary and Junior) planned for June 9th and 10th.   Resource Officer to supply volunteers from the police department possibly. HVNA will need to be contacted for a bike rally kit: 519-240-3567. Co-chairs to contact Cliff at the Hub on Queen St. – supplying bike bells, helmet fittings, and bike tune-ups. Marc has provided the bike stations to the Co-Chairs.

Co-chairs for planning this event are Mandy and Tracey.

-Parent volunteers for day of the event – Hugh, Hugo, and Catharine

 

  1. End of school year picnic Parents/guardians/siblings/grandparents invited to join the students over second nutrition break to celebrate the completion of the school year. Dates and details to be determined – possible dates 21st, 24th, 27th.   Marc to confer with school staff regarding date.

 

 

Planning ahead to 2016-2017:

 

  1. Meet the teacher night and BBQ/Scholastic Book Fair. Scheduled for September 2016.

-Hugh will look into vendors for the evening, Fletcher Falls will look into possible alternatives to caterers.

  1. Terry Fox Run next September
  2. Hillcrest turns 50 in 2015-2016
